Comment by Dianne Pari on September 8, 2012 at 7:04am I am a supervisor of a social studies department and teach two classes. I would like to know if your district is requiring supervisors/chairpersons who teach to be subject to APPR guidlines (SLOs, artifacts, observations in classrooms, etc.)
Thank you.
Comment by Tagrid Sihly on June 28, 2012 at 3:30pm I didn't notice this before until you mentioned it Danielle. Thank you...this is really an awesome website.
Thanks so much for sharing the OCM Boces site; it's a fantastic resource and I feel easier to navigate than Engage NY.
Attached you will find a document that may help you and your district to keep track of SLOs and the number of SLOs K-12.

Comment by Ed Plaia on May 6, 2012 at 7:34pm We recently did some PD with our teachers that are required to have SLO's. Essentially, we shared what we were recently taught through BOCES. TOgether, with the teachers, we began to create SLO's departmentally. IT was a learning experience for everyone involved. More importantly, it was conversation that needed to get started.
Comment by Jenn Finocchiaro on March 21, 2012 at 4:47pm We are of course beginning the process over here for SLOs. We have done a lot of work toward our new APPR. Im wondering how other districts are faring?
Comment by Carol Varsalona on March 17, 2012 at 5:49pm I suggested to the LA Directors who would like to start a focus group to discuss the creation of SLOs for ELA that we have a regional meeting at one of the BOCES. I sent Debbie Kennedy a copy so that she could ask her colleagues on how BOCES could be supportive. Thanks to Mike Keany, I found your group.
