- As an English educator and NCTE member, I consistently implement lessons that teach leadership, acceptance, and civility by incorporating character education into the analysis of literature and writing activities, thus creating social and emotional literacy amongst students. I believe that through reading and writing, students are able to make connections that show local and global citizenship and humanity.
