A Thought

Posted on March 27, 2013 at 12:10am 0 Comments

As I sit and wait for a delayed flight leaving Dubai today, my mind starts to wonder about the future. This international hub creates multiple opportunities for individuals from every part of the world to interact. The number of languages, culturals, and interactions far exceed anything I`ve seen. Organizations such as airlines, retalil, and commiercial ventures have capitalized by creating envirnonments of acceptance, and creative innovations so that people are comfortalbe. I begin to question… Continue

Research & Development Center

The evaluation system will be discussed over the next few days. I am very excited to create an action plan for this purpose. The purpose will be to inform the training center on potential gaps in instruction. The training center and research institute will enable quality of instruction to continuously improve over time. This will provide the ESL program with a mechanism to ensure the aligned curriculum goals are being met, facilitate change in an organic organization, and enable creative… Continue

Once again, I gained a better insight to the complexities of education, particularly ESL instruction. The students and instructors were very good. The game captured the attention of all students. Language acquisition continues to fascinate me as my awareness grows with each day. I wonder what opportunities exist though games? As educational leaders, what are our responsibilities in either… Continue

I writitng today to summaruize my most recent experiences while visiting New Dehli, India. I am very impressed by the work conducted by the AAM Foundation (AAMF.org). Essentially, the organization provides free ESL classes for students in the New Dehli area in roughly 50 centers. The creative thought process has enabled the organization to lauch an ambitious initiative to create 100 centers across the city.

Today we discussed the possibility of utilizing poetry, music,… Continue

From India

Posted on March 20, 2013 at 10:29pm 0 Comments

Recently, I was offered an opportunity to travel to India to work with an organization that provides ESL classes to students in New Dehli. The classes do not cost the students; however, they need to make a committment of one hour fourty-five minutes per day six days per week. The blended approach has provided students with the abiility to interact with software, engage in quality of instruction, and dialogue with their peers. I visited in one of the centers just southeast of my location. The… Continue
